avatarThere should be a warning at the beginning of the article that the latest Opera Widgets SDK (0.2) includes a newer version of the emulator than is linked here.

avatarI don't really understand this, but on the computer I'm on at the moment, the emulator doesn't work. When I unzip the package and open the widget by dragging it into the browser, it opens and then displays the "there's a problem with widget/config.xml" error, even though it's fine. I also tried hacking the emulator.js function by creating the xml directly and then it loads, but doesn't sense any events.

I've never seen this behavior before today..

avatarI want to share a problem I had with the Emulator and its solution:
Last week, I downloaded Widget SDK and tried to run the emulator opening the index.html at \opera-widgets-sdk-0.2\util\emulator and Opera browser complaint about "var widget is not defined". Of course, the solution is simply read carefully the article: you must drop config.xml in the same folder to an Opera browser window and everything works flawlessly.
